The Federal Republic of Somalia and the State of Qatar today signed a Defence cooperation agreement aimed at strengthening military ties and security collaboration between the two countries.
The agreement was signed by the Minister of Defence of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Ahmed Moallim Fiqi, and Qatar’s Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Defence Affairs, H.E. Sheikh Saoud bin Abdulrahman bin Hassan Al Thani.
The defence cooperation agreement focuses on military training, the exchange of expertise, the development of defence capabilities, and enhanced security cooperation, in support of efforts to promote regional security and stability.
The signing of this agreement further reinforces the strategic relationship between Somalia and Qatar and reflects the two countries’ shared commitment to working together to advance Defence, security, and long-term military cooperation.
