Deputy Prime Minister Closes National Stabilisation Coordination Meeting

MOGADISHU  – The National Stabilisation Coordination Meeting, hosted by the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, concluded its second day of discussions on Sunday. The session saw the participation of federal and state leaders, United Nations representatives, international partners, and diplomatic missions. Deputy Prime Minister Salah Jama brought the meeting to a formal close, summarising the progress and commitments made.

During the meeting, key figures provided updates, including Galmudug Interior Minister, Abdi Mohamed Jama (Abdi Waayeel), who detailed the efforts in Galmudug, Jubaland, HirShabelle, and South West State. The Somali Disaster Management Agency Commissioner, Mohamud Moallim, reported that aid initiatives have reached over 200,000 persons in newly liberated areas. This was complemented by remarks from Special Envoy for Stabilisation and Civilian Protection, Omar Hashi and Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Hassan Moallim, who emphasised the importance of delivering essential services to ensure the success of the stabilisation efforts.

Minister of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation, Ali Yusuf Ali Hosh, highlighted Jubaland’s ongoing challenges and successes and praised the Somali Security Forces for their sacrifices. The meeting also featured presentations from the Head of SNA’s Civilian-Military Cooperation, Col. Iman Elman on security and liberation updates and the Stabilisation Coordinator of the Ministry of Interior, Federal Affairs and Reconciliation Ramadan Elmi on early recovery efforts, showcasing the comprehensive approach to stabilisation.

International partners and UN representatives reaffirmed their support for Somalia’s stabilisation and recovery initiatives. The event concluded with a renewed commitment to the integrated efforts required to achieve lasting recovery and development in the affected regions.
