The Banadir Regional Court today resumes hearing for the second time the sensitive case of Sayid Ali Maallin Daoud who was accused of burning his pregnant wife, the late Luul Abdicasis Mohamed.

The trial started again this morning at the headquarters of the Banadir Regional Court, with a lot of media coverage, as it is a sensitive case which has been the talk of the town.

The hearing of this case was also attended by the relatives of both sides, members of the public, lawyers and prosecutors and proceedings continues as witnesses unfold the true story.

During the initial session Luul Abdicasis’s children testified before the court with Farhiyo Abdirisaaq, one of Luul’s 10-year-old children, bravely before the court recounting the harrowing events she witnessed, describing how she saw her mother engulfed in flames. Fighting back tears, Farhiyo recounted the heartbreaking moment and shared her mother’s final words of forgiveness before her tragic demise.

Sayid Ali also appeared in the court session, as his case is being heard for the second time, and he is represented by his lawyer Ali Halane.

If he is found guilty of this crime, Sayid Ali will be executed to death by firing squad, as announced in the previous session of the court by Salah Daban.

It is also expected that the regional court will make a decision today in the case of this man, which has greatly alarmed the Somali people.

The man, who had escaped before, was finally caught by the NISA agency in the central region, and was later handed over to the police, and thus his trial began.

The ongoing proceedings have captured the attention of the Somali people, who were deeply outraged by the brutal act committed against Luul Abdicasis, a mother of six children.

The family of the deceased expressed their intention to bury both Luul Abdicasis and her perpetrator simultaneously, underscoring their desire for closure and justice.

As the trial continues, all eyes remain focused on the Banadir Regional Court as it seeks to deliver justice for Luul Abdicasis and her grieving family.
