MOGADISHU – Somalia – The Banadir Regional Court in Mogadishu sentenced Sayid Ali Moalim to death on Wednesday. Moalim was found guilty of the murder of his pregnant wife, Lul Abdiaziz, by setting her on fire.
Sheikh Abdiaziz, the father of the deceased, told reporters that his daughter is awaiting burial alongside her husband. “She is waiting for her husband to be buried with her,” he stated prior to the verdict’s announcement.
Meanwhile, Sayid Ali has the option to appeal, which could delay the execution of the sentence if he chooses to do so.
