The match was also broadcast live on national television and radio, attracting millions of viewers and listeners across the country.
The match was organized to mark the historic decision of the United Nations Security Council to lift the arms embargo on Somalia, which had been in place since 1992. The decision, which was announced on December 02, 2023, recognized the progress made by the Somali government and its partners in restoring peace and stability, strengthening security institutions, and combating terrorism.
The match was also a symbolic gesture of unity and cooperation between the security forces.
