Banadir Region Administration, Cabinet and Security Agents Discuss Security and Coherence of City Residents

Mogadishu, 23 June 2018 – Mayor of Mogadishu, who is also Governor of Banadir Region, Honourable Abdirahman Omar Osman (Eng. Yarisow), has thanked the Cabinet of the Federal Government of Somalia, Security Agents and residents of the City for realizing relative security which the city had witnessed during the sacred month of Ramadan.

While speaking at an important meeting held at the Local Government`s Headquarters which was attended by Banadir Region Administration, Cabinet of the Federal Government of Somalia and Security Agents, the Governor of Banadir Region has said that co-operation and co-ordination between government institutions and Somali citizens thwarted barbaric actions perpetrated by terrorist militias which could target residents of the city.

“During this meeting, Banadir Region Administration, the Cabinet and Security agents share important information and the motive is to hold each side answerable when it comes to service delivery to the nation while pushing this service ahead to realize security and moving the people closer to nationhood. I exclusively mention that each member of the cabinet is attached to one of the 17 districts of the City which he is supposed to report on before he delivers it to the cabinet to which he belongs.” Eng. Yarisow said.

During the meeting, reports on different dimensions, such as co-existence, coherence, good governance, development of city infrastructure, and ways of preventing any threats by Al-shabab, were presented by Security Officials and District Commissioners. All sides have witnessed collectively the significance of the city`s stability since every country is ranked according to the stability of its City.
