Somalia Federal Government, civil society organizations, United Nations (UN) and international Aid agencies, need to step up efforts in preparing for disasters to cut the rising bill for helping people hit by crises, the head of the Somalia Humanitarian Actions Research and Development Organization (SHARDO) said.
The Chief Executive Officer of the Somalia Humanitarian Actions Research and Development Organization (SHARDO) Mr. Farhan Abdi Abdulle in which is non-profit, voluntary based impartial and non-governmental association working as NGO formula that works in humanitarian and developmental promotion throughout all the geographical areas of Somalia in particularly Gedo, Lower Jubba, and Galgaduud regions of Somalia, told today the Somali Media for Environment, Science, Health and Agriculture (SOMESHA) that a humanitarian crisis specially famine that has been looming for years is exist in Gedo, Lower Juba and Galgaduud as well as nationwide as a worsening drought has left millions without food, water and health care.
Mr. Farhan Abdi Abdulle affectionately welcomed that the humanitarian community in Somalia is seeking US$864 million to reach 3.9 million people with urgent life-saving humanitarian assistance because of poor rains lack of security.
He further expressed that SHARDO is committed to collectively share experience with one another to effectively design implement monitor and evaluate community, development projects. It acts on all the community developmental activities, such as:- Education, Health, Environment conservation, promotion of human-rights, rehabilitation and Resettlement of IDPs.
